Fall FY21 Mini-Grant Round Announced!

Four Rivers Heritage Area is pleased to announce the availability of our Fall FY21 Mini-Grants! NOTE: This year only (FY2021), due to COVID-19, the heritage areas have been authorized by the Maryland Heritage Areas Authority to allow applicants to use mini-grant funds for operating expenses. Emergency Operating Mini-Grant requests will be considered from eligible nonprofit heritage tourism organizations located within the boundaries of the Four Rivers Heritage Area. Maryland Heritage Areas Authority Makes a Big Change to Broaden Access to Funding for Applicants

Our colleague, Ennis Barbery Smith, has shared this recent article she published on the MHT Blog: At its July 2020 meeting, the Maryland Heritage Areas Authority (MHAA) made a substantial change to matching fund requirements, eliminating the longstanding 75% cash match requirement for all MHAA grants. Instead, MHAA will accept any combination of cash and in-kind match to fulfill the one-to-one matching requirement going forward. This change means that organizations are permitted to match MHAA grants with primarily volunteer time and donated services and materials, if that form of match makes sense for the proposed project.
