Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman announced the launch of a community survey to help guide the County’s use of federal Fiscal Recovery Funds stemming from the American Rescue Plan Act.

The Administration strives to use these fiscal recovery funds strategically for a strong and equitable recovery, with an emphasis on the following two principles.

  • CREATE ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL – Confront the causes of poverty, including wages, housing, transportation, childcare, education, and institutional racism.
  • PROMOTE HEALTH AND WELLNESS – Prioritize government investment in programs and infrastructure that enhance public health and thereby improve quality of life.

The survey on Anne Arundel County State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds Guidance, provides an opportunity for community members to provide feedback on project prioritization, service area rankings, and comments on specific funding ideas. The survey will run for two weeks, closing on Tuesday, July 27.

After the survey is complete and the US Treasury guidance is final, the County will solicit proposals through an online portal. Proposals will be vetted for eligibility and non-duplication by the Budget Office, and evaluated by the Fiscal Recovery Fund Workgroup. The portal is expected to be operational by August 1.
