Be a Part of “Tubman 200”!

What's New

Throughout 2022, Maryland will be celebrating Harriet Tubman all year long as part of “Tubman 200” — marking two centuries since Harriet Tubman’s birth: from 1822 to 2022. Make your heritage site or museum part of the celebration! The Maryland Office of Tourism is ready to market any exhibitions, programs, and special events honoring and celebrating Harriet Tubman, across the state.

Got an idea? Let the Maryland Office of Tourism know about your Harriet Tubman 200 Plans. Thinking of a webinar, a public event, or possibly a way to include a Harriet Tubman reenactor in a commemoration? Your event can be included in the statewide marketing!

The following resources showcase a self-guided driving tour that winds for more than 125 miles through the beautiful landscapes and waterscapes of Maryland’s Eastern Shore, and then another 98 miles through Delaware, including 45 historically significant sites related to the Underground Railroad:

Also, be sure to continue to upload your events into the Visit Maryland.org Calendar of Events to reach over 3 million travelers. To start, visit VisitMaryland.org’s self-entry portal. Thanks!
