Fall FY21 Mini-Grant Round Announced!

Four Rivers Heritage Area is pleased to announce the availability of our Fall FY21 Mini-Grants! NOTE: This year only (FY2021), due to COVID-19, the heritage areas have been authorized by the Maryland Heritage Areas Authority to allow applicants to use mini-grant funds for operating expenses. Emergency Operating Mini-Grant requests will be considered from eligible nonprofit heritage tourism organizations located within the boundaries of the Four Rivers Heritage Area. Maryland Heritage Areas Authority Makes a Big Change to Broaden Access to Funding for Applicants

Our colleague, Ennis Barbery Smith, has shared this recent article she published on the MHT Blog: At its July 2020 meeting, the Maryland Heritage Areas Authority (MHAA) made a substantial change to matching fund requirements, eliminating the longstanding 75% cash match requirement for all MHAA grants. Instead, MHAA will accept any combination of cash and in-kind match to fulfill the one-to-one matching requirement going forward. This change means that organizations are permitted to match MHAA grants with primarily volunteer time and donated services and materials, if that form of match makes sense for the proposed project. Round II of Maryland’s Nonprofit Recovery Initiative’s Grants Now Open

Governor Hogan is allocating $50 million to the Maryland Nonprofit Recovery Initiative (NORI) to assist nonprofit organizations whose critical operations have been financially impacted by COVID-19 and state-of-emergency. Round II of funding is now open and will close August 21 at 12:00pm a​​t the latest; the portal may close if and when grant requests exceed available funding. Lately, we’ve been excited to watch Annapolis becoming more colorful with the addition of new murals and public art.  During this time of social distancing, several new projects have helped to bring our community closer together, and even into the national spotlight.
