For the third year, Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan has declared September as International Underground Railroad Month, recognizing the state as the "most powerful Underground Railroad storytelling destination in the world." Four Rivers Heritage Area is pleased to announce the availability of our Fall FY22 Mini-Grants! Visit the Mini-Grants tab on our Grants page to access the Application and Guidelines. Click on the Mini-Grants tab.  Applications in the new grant cycle are due by October 6 and funding decisions will be announced by October 29, 2021. These Mini-Grants are available for new heritage and preservation-related programs, activities, products, and events. Advocates for Herring Bay Publish Booklet: “Herring Bay: Landscapes and Legacies”

We have just learned from our contact Kathy Gramp in Herring Bay that the Advocates for Herring Bay (AHB) have printed 800 copies of Herring Bay: Landscapes and Legacies, a short booklet prepared in conjunction with the Scenic Rivers Land Trust under a grant from the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County.  This is an informative, well-written and fully-illustrated booklet about this area's rich past.
