Two Great Houses Architectural Tour

Hammond-Harwood House 19 Maryland Ave, Annapolis

The Hammond-Harwood House Museum and Chase-Lloyd House invite guests to a two hour-long tour that explores the two architectural treasures in downtown Annapolis. The tour will cover the interior of the Hammond-Harwood House and the Chase Home. Guests will learn about the architectural details and the longstanding social history that connects these two great houses on Maryland Avenue. This tour celebrates the two-hundred and eighty-ninth anniversary of architect William Buckland. Registration is required.

In this program, you’ll learn the history behind a popular colonial food and try your hand at making it. What do you do when it’s too hot to cook but you need to preserve the summer harvest? You make pickles! Annearrundell County Free School Museum 1298 LaVall Drive, Davidsonville

The Free School Act of 1723 was passed by the Colonial Assembly of Maryland. The law provided for the establishment of a Free School in each of the existing twelve counties. The Annearrundell County Free School, one-room schoolhouse, was located in what is now Davidsonville. Probably the only Free School from 1723 still standing, the Annearrundell County Free School now operates as a museum.
