When Governor Robert Eden began furnishing his Annapolis house in 1769, he did so in the hopes of becoming the most powerful figure in the colony. However, the American Revolutionary War resulted in the loss of Eden's colonial property and, after the demolition of his home in 1902, it appeared that his materical world had vanished forever. The Deale Area Historical Society will be presenting "Deadly Gamble," a lecture and book signing by Author Kathy Bergren Smith. Not only will Kathy be there to tell the story and history of the book, but also John Ferguson, one of the survivors of the shipwreck of the Levin J. Marvel in Herring Bay during Hurricane Connie in 1955.
