Lunch and Learn: The Power of the Ballot

Jones, Morgan State University Archivist, who will discuss her latest book, Baltimore Civil Rights Leader Victorine Q. Adams: The Power of the Ballot. Dr. Jones will examine the life of Victorine Adams through her archival collection and address the importance of the archival record in contextualizing the life of the person. July 8 - Mixed Business The Tides & Tunes Summer Concert Series offers 10 weeks of popular music–from rock to folk to blues–with the incomparable backdrop of the Chesapeake Bay. Concerts are free; however, donations are gratefully accepted. Food and spirits are available for purchase. Beverage sales support the Museum’s education program. Bring a chair or blanket. Concerts start at 7 p.m. at the Museum’s waterfront McNasby campus (723 Second St., Annapolis).  

BDM Annual Youth Conference

Banneker-Douglass Museum’s Annual Youth Conference brings together young people (ages 13 to 17) to share their experiences with history, art, and pop-culture. This year’s theme: The Black Family: Representation, Identity, and Diversity, encourages attendees to reflect on the uniqueness of their own familial units while learning about the special qualities of others. Virtual breakout rooms, scavenger hunts, and more ensure this year’s event will be fun, interactive, engaging, and informative!
