Having Difficult Conversations about Race: Part 1 focuses on developing conversation skills including, active listening; compassionate confrontation; and clarifying common, but complex terms such as racism, prejudice, and discrimination. The workshop includes: games, visual arts, theatre, and conversations enabling participants to develop the communication skills to have difficult conversations in everyday settings. The Galesville Heritage Society 2018 Speaker Series begins with members of the village sharing their memories of the James Adams Floating Theater. Before TV or driving to the movies, the annual visit of the showboat brought music and theater to the residents of West River.
