West and Calvert Streets

Enjoy live entertainment and the works of 100 local and regional artists as you stroll along the first block of West and Calvert Streets next to Whitmore parking garage. Local restaurants set up outside cafes that are perfect for people watching and an afternoon bite to eat. Free parking for the family-friendly event is available at the state parking garage on the corner of Calvert and Bladen Streets.

West Annapolis Neighborhood Parade

Celebrate the Fourth of July at the West Annapolis neighborhood at this family friendly event. Decorate your bikes and strollers and join the West Annapolis Civic Association for a walk from Wardour Circle to West Annapolis Elementary school to picnic and party with neighbors and friends.

Shady Side Independence Day Parade

The Shady Side community celebrates Independence Day with a parade from 10 to 11 a.m. It begins at Cedarhurst Road and ends at the Shady Side Community Center (the former Kiwanis Club) on Snug Harbor Road. For information, call Eddy Boarman at 443-370-8720.

Galesville Fourth of July Parade

The Annual Galesville Heritage Society sponsored 4th of July Parade will kick off at 1:00 PM on Thursday the 4th of July.  All are invited to attend for free. For watching comfort, bring towels or chairs to sit on. Or, come and be part of the parade.  Everyone who is part of a sports team,  a scout troop, church group, classic car owner, or fire engine company is invited to march or to decorate bicycles, or to build a float and join in the fun.  

Annapolis Fourth of July Parade

Downtown Annapolis

The festivities kick off at 6:30 p.m. with an old-fashioned community parade. This patriotic salute to our nation is always a crowd-pleaser, with thousands of viewers lining the route. The U.S. Naval Academy presents a concert at 8:00 p.m. The night wraps up with fireworks over the Annapolis Harbor starting around 9:15 p.m.

Wednesday Night Sailboat Races

Spa Creek Bridge Annapolis, MD, United States

Grab your favorite dockside seat in America’s Sailing Capital to watch some 130 crews compete in midweek races that involve sailing around several marks in the Chesapeake Bay before heading back to Spa Creek for a finish in front of the Annapolis Yacht Club. For many, the post-race party is the official beginning of the weekend. First gun is approximately 6:10 p.m. The best places to view the race is Annapolis City Dock and the Spa Creek Bridge.

MTPA’s Artists in the Park

The first block of West Street (from Church Circle to Calvert Street), located in the heart of the Arts District, will be closed to traffic on Wednesday evenings and filled with cafe tables reminiscent of the open-air cafes in France, Spain and Italy. Visitors and area residents are invited to dine, stroll and shop along West Street while enjoying live music beneath a canopy of lights above.

Tides and Tunes Concert Series

July 6 - The High & Wides The Tides & Tunes Summer Concerts Series offers ten weeks of popular music from rock to folk to jazz with the incomparable backdrop of the Chesapeake Bay. Concerts are free; however, donations are requested. Food and spirits are available. The concerts are sponsored and supported by the popular Annapolis radio station WRNR.
