Dr. Morrissey will discuss current information about the biology of sharks and their cartilaginous allies, the skates and rays of the Chesapeake Bay. He will cover the diversity, anatomy and sensory systems, reproduction, feeding behavior, attacks on humans, and conservation issues relating to sharks, skates and rays and demonstrate how most “common knowledge” about sharks and rays is wrong.
The 2019 Winter Lecture Series at the Annapolis Maritime Museum & Park will be held on Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. from January 10 to February 28. You will be challenged to question and to learn by engaging speakers on eight diverse topics including maritime history, local history, science and maritime art.
