Summit to Focus on History & Health

The Preservation Maryland Old Line State Summit will take place Friday, June 15, 2018 at the University of Maryland followed by the Maryland Association of Historic District Commissions Annual Symposium on Saturday, June 16, 2018.

Our environment has important physical and psychological effects on us all – that includes our built environment from community design to styles of architecture. During the Old Line State Summit on Friday, attendees will hear a keynote lecture from Dr. Debarati Majumdar Narayan of the Health Impact Project about the impact of historic preservation on the health of our communities and ourselves. On Saturday, the MAHDC Symposium will focus on preservation and affordability with a session by community developer Charlie Duff of Jubliee Baltimore.

Over the two days of the conference, interactive panel sessions will focus on the role of preservation in creating healthy, affordable, and accessible communities, with topics including: healthy neighborhoods, affordable housing and repairs, museum accessibility, recreation tourism, smart growth and more!

Registration for Friday and/or Saturday can be completed online at: oldlinestate.orgIf you’re attending both days, you can stay at The Hotel at the University of Maryland for a special rate of $159+tax/night.
