Hands on History with Maryland State Archives

October 17, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Would you like to volunteer for the Maryland State Archives from the comfort of your own home?  You can!

Please join us for a brief information session and demonstration of FROMTHEPAGE (link:  https://fromthepage.com/) where you can volunteer remotely to help make the records of the archives easier for everyone to use.   This session will give a short project description as well as live demonstration of how easy online transcription projects from home can be.  Then, if you are interested in volunteering, we can help you set up a personal log in and let you practice transcribing a few records in our electronic classroom.  We promise you will get the hang of it in no time.  Then, you can continue volunteering from your own home any time day or night!  Want to jump right in without the training session?  That’s fine too.  See https://msa.maryland.gov/msa/refserv/html/volunprogram.html for more details on logging in and signing up.

Registration: Please email or call Emily Oland Squires to RSVP at [email protected] or 410-260-6443
