UPDATE: THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED. We are delighted to announce a modified version of the beloved living history program: Revolutionary London Town!
Examine the ideals of the American Revolution through a socially distanced, outdoor-only guided tour of the site. During the tour, you will learn about:
the concerns of everyday citizens in London Town on the eve of revolution
the ideals and aspirations of Beck, an enslaved woman working in London Town
Elizabeth Ferguson, the local businesswoman enslaving Beck
the concerns of those in maritime trades, as impending war loomed.
Meet citizens who joined the Continental forces and took up the fight. Discuss the grievances listed/outlined in the Declaration of Independence with interpreters/reenactors from the United States Marine Corps Historical Company.
For the safety of participants and staff, this workshop will be held outside with appropriate distancing, group sizes, and cleaning in accordance with CDC and local guidance.
