In celebration of National Poetry Month, the Banneker-Douglass Museum will join the Mitchell Gallery to host an event inviting professional and amateur poets to create personalized poems relating to their experiences at eight sites throughout Annapolis.
Poets will visit The Banneker-Douglass Museum, Mitchell Gallery, St. John’s College, Hammond-Harwood House, Paca House, Back Creek Books, Old Fox Books & Coffeehouse, and the Market House at City Dock, with a final stop at the Mitchell Gallery on the campus of St. John College, which features The Robert Indiana exhibit: Love and Hope. At the BannekerDouglas Museum, poets will draw inspiration from exhibits throughout the museum including, Bent Not Broken, and Deep Roots Rising Waters. Join us for this poetry crawl featuring typewriters, historical inspiration and fun!
