FY24 African American Heritage Preservation Program (AAHPP) Grant Q&A Webinar

Decorative Arts Tour: Portraits at the Paca House

The walls of the William Paca House are full of fine portraits and engravings, each with their own story to tell. This one-hour, curator-led tour through the house will focus on many of the fine works present and pieces that would have been hung throughout the home during the 18th century. Visitors will learn more about the artists behind the works, as well as some fascinating mysteries that are yet to be solved. Advance registration recommended; space is limited. Annearrundell County Free School

Annearrundell County Free School Museum 1298 LaVall Drive, Davidsonville, MD

The Annearrundell County Free School was established by the Colonial Assembly almost 300 years ago.  Each of the then twelve existing counties in the state were expected to build a one-room schoolhouse with taxpayer money going for the purchase of the land and building of the schoolhouse.  Students paid a tuition and one of the school's most celebrated students was Johns Hopkins.
