This encore concert by the Extensions of Faith Praise Choir is back due to the enthusiastic response to their performance for the 2017 Martin Luther King concert held during last year's Ruth Starr Rose exhibition in the Mitchell Gallery. Ramocille Johnson leads this non-denominational chorus of over 30 voices accompanied by bass guitar, drums, percussions, and keyboard. The choir, who performs throughout Maryland, is known for their vibrant interpretations of Gospel music, as well as traditional spirituals and hymns. This event is free and open to the public. Two hundred fifty years ago, James Brice began building his Annapolis mansion, which still dominates the intersection of East and Prince George Streets. During the Revolutionary War, he served as Captain of the city militia and Lieutenant of the county militia, positions that earned him the honorary title “Colonel.” But James wasn’t the only Colonel in the Brice family; his younger brother, Edmund, a professionally-trained artist, was named a Lieutenant Colonel by Congress at the request of the Marquis de Lafayette.
