This fall, experience Miguel Braceli’s

UNBURIAL at St. John’s College.

Inspired by Annapolis’s historic Liberty Tree, UNBURIAL invites visitors to consider liberty, memory, and what remains when a powerful symbol of history is gone. For more than three centuries, the Liberty Tree stood on the college’s front lawn—a witness to history and a gathering place for the Sons of Liberty before the Revolution. Though the tree fell in 1999, its story continues to resonate.

Through a temporary outdoor sculpture and related gallery installation, UNBURIAL brings that history into the present, creating a space for reflection, conversation, and discovery.

Come experience the artwork, then explore the city where revolutionary history comes alive. Travel Visit Annapolis’s Be Revolutionary Exploration Trail, Wander Annapolis’s historic streets, visit its museums and landmarks, enjoy the waterfront, and discover the stories that connect the Chesapeake to the founding of the nation.
