Explore New Storymap: Beaches and Sites of Black Historical Significance

The new resource is a visual presentation of historically Black beaches and other places of Black historical significance in the Chesapeake watershed. News has just been released about a new online, interactive resource, developed by the Blacks of the Chesapeake Foundation with the Chesapeake Conservancy, to create an interactive digital map of the entire Chesapeake watershed that tells the stories of our region’s Black history. Chesapeake Crossroads Heritage Area is pleased to announce a webinar presentation by Dr. Marcie Taylor-Thoma on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at 2 p.m., via zoom, entitled, "Planning for Civics in our 250 Celebrations." Dr. Taylor-Thoma is Executive Director of the Maryland Council for Civic and History Education, and a CCHA Coordinating Council member, among other affiliations.
