We are excited to share that our workshop on March 1 at Maryland Hall, “Improving the Visitor Experience for Visitors with Physical Disabilities,” has added exciting new speakers! Due to the withdrawal of a planned speaker due to medical issues, we are bringing some high-powered personnel to the podium, and you won’t want to miss this event. Please help us spread the word!
Speakers include: Beth Ziebarth, Head Diversity Officer for the Smithsonian, Ann Deschamps, Director of the Mid-Atlantic ADA Center, Meredith Peruzzi, Director of the National Deaf Life Museum at Gallaudet University, and Steve Hairsine, Blind Industries and Services of Maryland.

This workshop provides information about the experiences of people with physical disabilities visiting museums and includes practical ways museum professionals can enhance the visitor experience at their sites for all patrons of all abilities. The workshop will be Friday, March 1, 9 a.m., in the Bowen Theatre (lower level) of Maryland Hall, 801 Chase Street, Annapolis, MD 21401. The fee is $10 (see below); coffee and pastries will be available. The professional speakers are individuals who have disabilities themselves and are excellent spokespersons for this topic.
