Take the Maryland Heritage Areas Authority Demographic Survey

MHAA logoIf you are one of our partners who have applied for or have received an MHAA Grant, there’s still time for you to take the Maryland Heritage Areas Authority Demographic Survey, which closes on Monday, February 1.

You already know that Maryland’s Heritage Areas preserve and celebrate our state’s history and cultural traditions while creating place-based experiences for visitors and residents alike. They are where the intertwined stories of the people, land and waters are told.

The MHAA is asking for your help to know more. In an effort to assess the extent to which the programs of the Maryland Heritage Areas Authority (MHAA) have racially equitable beneficiaries, the MHAA is interested in knowing the racial and ethnic makeup of the organizations that have either applied for or were awarded MHAA grants. The MHAA will use this information to establish how the program has performed in the past with a view towards having a better understanding of how to achieve racial equity in the future.

If you have not already done so, please consider completing on behalf of your organization the Maryland Heritage Areas Authority: Demographic Survey.

The survey seeks information on the racial and ethnic identities of your organization’s board members and staff. The survey is not being sent to individual board members or staff because to do so would be logistically complex and the results would be difficult to collate and assess. As such, please respond on behalf of your organization as a whole and that you make best efforts to respond accurately and completely.

Please note, responses to this survey will not be used for scoring or ranking of current or future MHAA grant applications.

Thank you in advance for your participation!
