Survey to Support Cemetery Conservation in Anne Arundel County

Survey to Support Cemetery Conservation in Anne Arundel County

Take a Survey

Earlier this week, we shared with you the news that Anne Arundel County will be celebrating Maryland Archeology Month this April.

The Anne Arundel County Department of Planning and Zoning’s Cultural Resource Division would like your help in understanding the challenges facing the conservation of cemeteries.

Please consider participating in a research survey on “Cemetery Conservation in Anne Arundel County.”

This research is being conducted by Anne Arundel County Cultural Resource Division and its preservation intern, Emily Smithey, a graduate student from the University of Maryland, College Park Cultural and Heritage Resource Management program.

The purpose of this survey is (1) to assess the condition of cemeteries in Anne Arundel County, (2) to determine cemeteries’ greatest risk factors, and (3) to determine any climate-related impacts on cemeteries. By participating in this survey, you will give voice to your observations of cemetery conditions and the importance of cemeteries as cultural resources.

The survey will only take less than 5 minutes to complete. Your answers will help us determine how we can improve cemetery protections and management for you and your community.

Thank you!
