This is the 17th year for the Maryland Day Celebration in the Chesapeake Crossroads Heritage Area! The dates of this weekend event are March 22-24, 2024. Visit the event website,, to see the full list of participating sites (there are more than 40 around the County) and the current listings of the planned events! All of the events are $1 or FREE!

History-rich sites throughout the Chesapeake Crossroads Heritage Area in Anne Arundel County invite visitors of all ages to celebrate Maryland History with new stories and new experiences! Events share diverse points of view from indigenous peoples, colonists, enslaved and newly emancipated people, tradespeople, and artists. Learn how the Chesapeake Bay has impacted our present and our past. Meet story-tellers of the present and costumed interpreters from the past. There will be hands-on activities for children, walking tours, and video presentations.

As part of the weekend festivities, the Pride of Baltimore II will be docked downtown at Susan Campbell Park all weekend, with free deck tours! The ship’s crew plans to bring her into the Annapolis harbor on Thursday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.! You’ll want to be on hand for the grand entrance into the harbor!
