Plan Today for Maryland Day Weekend – Starting This Friday!

How do you celebrate Maryland Day? Observed as a state holiday on March 25, Maryland Day commemorates the formal founding of the colony of Maryland.

Here in the Four Rivers Heritage Area, we celebrate over an entire weekend with a unique heritage based group of events in Annapolis and southern Anne Arundel County. Maryland Day celebrations in Annapolis and Anne Arundel County are a hit with family and friends getting together to experience the local history, culture and heritage of the region. This year, Maryland Day festivities will take place Friday, March 19 to Sunday, March 21. To highlight the diverse culture, history, and heritage of Anne Arundel County, our Maryland Day theme is Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Learn more on our official Maryland Day page.

To make the events as accessible to the public as possible, all Maryland Day events offered by our participating partners are free or $1 admission.  This year, due to COVID safety protocols there are options for both online and in-person events throughout Anne Arundel County at historic and culturally significant sites.

This year’s featured partners include:
