Maryland Humanities SHARP Recovery Grants Now Open for Applications

Please find useful information below on the SHARP Recovery Grants from Maryland Humanities. These grants are specifically targeted towards museums, historic sites, preservation and historical societies, and community and cultural organizations with a significant humanities focus.

Grants

Maryland Humanities is now accepting applications to its $910,000 Sustaining the Humanities through the American Rescue Plan (SHARP) Recovery Grants Fund. The goal of this new opportunity is to sustain Maryland’s public humanities infrastructure and to ensure that organizations negatively impacted by COVID-19 can continue to provide opportunities for Maryland’s communities to access and engage with public history, cultural heritage, and civic learning during this continued unprecedented time. Grants will support nonprofit general operating expenses.

Applications will be accepted through the Maryland Humanities online Grants Portal through September 30. Applicants will be notified of the decision on October 29th.

View the SHARP Recovery Grants Fund webpage for additional information on grant guidelines including eligibility criteria and funding priorities.
