Maryland Day Unpaused continues! In recognition of the family-friendly theme of this celebration, here are some virtual experiences to enjoy with the kids.
Anne Arundel County Public Library hosts Facebook Live “Storytimes: Preschool Storytime,” Monday-Friday at 10:30 am (Tuesdays are bilingual Spanish and English). Join library staff from across AACPL as they present stories, songs and fun each weekday morning on Facebook Live. Thursdays at 11:00 am is “Babies in Bloom” for babies ages birth to 18 months. Babies will enjoy songs and action rhymes while building early literacy skills. Zoom programs require registration through Anne Arundel County Public Library’s events calendar.
On June 7, the Chesapeake Children’s Museum held a Facebook Live Streaming event, “Kids ‘n’ Kaboodle.” This virtual event featured entertainment by Guava Jelly, Mr. Derby, and Frolic the Fox. Viewers followed along with easy crafts and make-believe, and also visited with the Annapolis Fire Department, Annapolis Transit, and other special guests. You can rewatch the videos on Chesapeake Children’s Museum’s Facebook page.
For kids who love learning about history history, Watermark offers Virtual Watermark Journeys. Take a video journey as Mistress Mary presents the “The Founding of Maryland” and Squire Curtis presents “Maryland and the Declaration of Independence.” Use the link above and scroll down until you see “…And please enjoy these complimentary videos by our Tour Guides.” Much more is coming soon!
And continue to check the Maryland Day Unpaused website for more activities for the whole family, including an upcoming virtual adventure with Pirates of the Chesapeake brought to you by the Annapolis Maritime Museum!
