The Office of the Secretary of State’s Charities & Legal Services Division is hosting the second in their series of Town Hall meetings for Charitable Organizations which will be held at 10AM on May 17, 2021. The topic is Compliance & Enforcement of Charitable Organizations: How to Avoid Complaints.

The purpose of this second Town Hall meeting is to inform charities and those interested about the Office of the Secretary of State’s compliance and enforcement requirements for Charitable Organizations requirements and how Charitable Organizations in Maryland can avoid complaints.

This Town Hall will occur virtually, on Google Meets on Monday, May 17, 2021 at 10:00am-11:00am. The following is a link to the Virtual Town Hall: meet.google.com/bxs-rtcx-cpu.

Below is a schedule of the remaining Charities Town Hall Meetings for you to add to your calendar:

  • September 20, 2021: Professional Solicitor or Fundraising Counsel Registration Requirements
  • November 15, 2021: Donor Education

Attendance is limited to the first 250 in attendance.

Assistant Secretary of State, Kathy Smith, and Division Administrator, Michael Schlein, will lead the Town Hall event.
