Celebrate history, heritage and excellence as the Chesapeake Crossroads Heritage Area celebrates its Nineteenth Annual Heritage Awards! These awards recognize individuals, organizations, programs and achievements that contribute to our community by interpreting, promoting, preserving, researching and/or supporting our historical legacy.

Please join us as we gather again to reconnect and celebrate this year’s outstanding honorees!

HERITAGE VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD – Christine Simmons, Anne Arundel Genealogical Society

HERITAGE PARTNERSHIP OF THE YEAR AWARD – Archaeology of Jug Bay: Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary, Anne Arundel County Cultural Resources Section, Lost Towns Project

HERITAGE PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR AWARD – Michelle Doerr, United States Naval Academy

HERITAGE INTERPRETER OF THE YEAR AWARD – Diane Rey, Historic Annapolis

GERTRUDE MAKELL DEIA IN PROGRAMMING AWARD – Corey Lewis, Maryland State Archives

PUBLIC/PRIVATE INITIATIVE AWARD – Anne Arundel County Historic Marker Program: Arundel County, Office of Planning & Zoning – Cultural Resources Section; Anne Arundel County, Department of Recreation and Parks; Anne Arundel County, Department of Public Works – Traffic Engineering Division; Heritage Sites and Historians

PATRICIA BARLAND LEADERSHIP AWARD – C. Jane Cox

The event will be held on Thursday, November 12th at 5 p.m., at Historic Baldwin Hall, 1358 Millersville Road in Millersville. Light refreshments will be served. Please join us as we gather to celebrate this year’s outstanding honorees!

Tickets are $10 and may be purchased through Eventbrite, or at the door.
