Here’s how to find out whether your project is within the heritage area boundaries

August 1, 2024

Image MedusaGrant-funded projects in the CCHA must take place within the approved boundaries of the heritage area (or technically, the majority of the project must take place within our boundaries). Here’s how to determine whether your project qualifies.

Go to Medusa, Maryland’s Cultural Resource Information System

In the left sidebar, click on the “Layers” tab. Look below to click on “Other MHT Base Data.” Once it is clicked, then click on the box to choose “Maryland Heritage Areas.” Now, the heritage areas layer is activated! Now go to the map area on the right, and where its says “find address or place,” type in the address of your project location.

If this location is within the heritage area boundaries, it will have diagonal PINK CROSS-HATCHING ACROSS THE SCREEN where this location is. Our heritage area will be labeled somewhere over the cross-hatching, as “Chesapeake Crossroads Heritage Area.”

Please don’t hesitate to follow up with heritage area staff if you have any questions.
