SUMMARY:Marriage for Love or Money? 19th Century Women Tell All in their Diaries
DESCRIPTION:Join us for this Zoom talk by Hammond-Harwood House director Barbara Goyette as we look at courtship and marriage for Maryland women in the first half of the 19th century.\nTheir diaries give us insight into how the influence of romanticism impacted the transactional features of marriage.
