Lesser-known collections at the Maryland State Archives reveal the active role Marylanders took in the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair, which showcased scientific, technological, agricultural, industrial, and artistic achievements throughout America. Glimpse the efforts to create the “Maryland Building,” explore award-winning contributions of our state’s citizens, meet a Baltimore activist advocating for the representation of black Marylanders’ invaluable achievements, and experience the day-to-day account of a Marylander who journeyed hundreds of miles to experience the fair first-hand. September 14: Eastport Oyster Boys The Tides & Tunes Summer Concert Series continues the fun of the summer with 4 weeks of great music–from rock to funk to hip-hop–with the incomparable backdrop of our Park Campus. Concerts are free; however, donations are gratefully accepted. Beer and wine are available for purchase. Beverage sales support the Museum’s education program. No outside alcohol is permitted. Food trucks will be on site. Bring a chair for seating.
