Women’s History Month Author Talk and Book Signing

March 31, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Sponsored by the Maryland Commission on African American History and Culture, join the Banneker Douglass Museum for this special night of reflection and empowerment entitled “Reconnecting With Ourselves and our Communities.” Melanie Foote-Davis is the author of Radical Love: Your Path to Freedom and Bliss. Working as a speaker and life coach, she taps into the vulnerability of life’s pain and pleasures through her own personal experiences. She offers the tools needed to reconnect your heart, your mind, and your soul so that you may live your life with joy, connection, and fulfillment. Patsy Fletcher is a community development consultant specializing in community heritage and historic preservation initiatives. Her passion for African American places of leisure and early architecture inspired her to write Historically African American Leisure Destinations around Washington, D.C. This book is dedicated to revealing the forgotten history of African Americans in D.C. who sought destinations where they could relax without the burden of racial oppression.
