The Hammond Harwood House Lantern Clock, A Glimpse of the Beginning of Time

July 21, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

The Hammond Harwood House is home to one of Maryland’s oldest domestic clocks.  Attributed to clockmaker John Ebsworths, this remarkable clock was made between 1660 and 1680. Constructed before the use of a pendulum was widespread, it was modified to keep up with horological advances of the time. Join us for this free, online lecture to learn all about this local treasure!

Part of the Cathleen H. Far Lecture Series

This lecture is a free, online presentation by local horologist Stephen Sierack
