Honoring Maryland’s Emancipation Day

On November 1, 1864, a new state constitution abolished slavery in Maryland. Join us at the Museum of Historic Annapolis as we recognize and honor this historic event with special activities all weekend! All activities are included with Museum admission.

This weekend, our Museum Guided Tours will focus on African American History. This 45-minute guided tour of the Museum celebrates Emancipation Day in Maryland and spotlights the African American community leaders in Annapolis. Tours are offered at 11:30 am and 2 pm. Pre-registration is available below.

Plus, families can enjoy a craft activity and browse our Book Nook with featured titles from our friends at Anne Arundel County Public Library.

Advance registration recommended, but not required. 

Cost: $5 General Admission (8+) ; FREE for Children 7 and under, HA Members, and SNAP/WIC through the Museums for All program
