Historical Maps Exhibit

September 18, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Do you like old maps? If you do, you’ll want to visit the GHS Museum on Sunday, September 18th  2-4 pm. On display will be the Hopkins 1878 atlas of Anne Arundel County with a 24 x 15 inch map of each of the districts. It’s a great way to see how much the county has changed from its more rural past to its more suburban present. In addition, a display of historical maps will illustrate Galesville’s growth from colonial times to the 20th century.

Experience Galesville’s maritime history and see the community from the water. Take a boat tour (weather permitting) from the Galesville Community Pier aboard the “Miss Hazard” a 36-foot tuck-stern bateau. This 36-foot tuck-stern bateau is a reproduction of the historic classic West River Bateau, built by Norman Hazard, at his home shop on Church Lane in Galesville. Tours will begin at 2 pm.
