Hazard Planning for Small Sites and Museums

June 28, 2018 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

Join Jennifer Sparenberg (Maryland Historical Trust, Hazard Mitigation Officer), Stacy Bowe (Smithsonian Cultural Rescue Initiative), and Megan Young (Greenbelt Museum, Director) to discuss Hazard Planning for Small Sites and Museums!

In this workshop, issues of flooding, hazards, preparing your collection, and developing an emergency plan will be examined followed by lessons learned from cultural heritage disaster response and by a case study situation from the Greenbelt Museum. Participants will leave with tools necessary to start the planning related to the variety of hazards that can occur at a small site or museum.
