Hands-On History Day – The American Red Cross

Visit the Museum of Historic Annapolis on the second Sunday of every month for Hands-On History Days. Drop in during event hours for special family activities – a new theme each month means you and your family will want to visit again and again! Activities are included with Museum admission.

Did you know Clara Barton established the first field office for the Red Cross at Camp Parole during the Civil War? Stop by and visit us in November explore the history of the American Red Cross in Annapolis.

  • Learn about the Grey Ladies who volunteered with the Red Cross at the U.S. Naval Academy.
  • Create a homemade stethoscope!
  • Explore the Museum and discover the many stories of our historic city during wartimes, shared throughout Annapolis: An American Story.
  • Take a break in our Anne Arundel County Public Library Book Nook and read stories about Clara Barton & all the nurses who help people every day.

Cost: $7 General Admission (8+) ; FREE for Children 7 and under, HA Members, and SNAP/WIC through the Museums for All program
