Fall Festival and War of 1812 Remembrance at Historic Hancock’s Resolution

Celebrate War of 1812 events onBodkin Creek and near Hancock’s Resolution with the
SHIP’S COMPANY’s musket and cannon firing demonstrations, and sea chanteys on
the porch by THE CHANTEYMEN.
Learn about African Americans during the War of 1812 and their contributions at
Hancock’s Resolution from The Northern Arundel Cultural Preservation Society, while
listening to the Appalachian music of the OVERTONES in the Barn.
Celebrate Fall by making a scarecrow, corn husk doll, and painting a gourd, or play
some old time games. Preserve flower seeds, and create lavender sachets with the
Master Gardeners.
The Chesapeake Fiber Crafters will demonstrate various wool spinning tools and
methods, plus more. Wood carvers and a seamstress will have wares to sell. Eco-
Adventures’ Snake Truck will be open from 10:00 – 2:00.
A light lunch courtesy of Kurtz’s Beach can be purchased from 12:00 -2:00, along with
homemade desserts (Cash Only).
