The Annearrundell Free School Museum will host an open house event on Sunday, February 22, 2026 1:00-4:00 PM. This event, held on George Washington’s birthday, will be focused on him as a Founding Father and the first US President. We recently rediscovered a poster-sized scrapbook about George Washington that was made by a sixth grade class sometime in the mid 1970s. This book inspired us to host an event about Mr. Washington and will be on display. George (interpreter Mike Callahan) will be in attendance and we hope people will come to talk with him. We will have books, pictures, and portraits of George completed by fifth grade students from Davidsonville Elementary School on display. Cherry treats will be available too.
