Chesapeake Crossroads Heritage Area Presents: Maryland Day Celebration 2026

December 1, 2025

March 19 – 25, 2026

Mark Your Calendar– Save the Date– Pencil it In!   Chesapeake Crossroads Heritage Area will host its signature annual celebration of local history and culture the week of March 19 through March 25, 2026 and we don’t want you to miss out! The event showcases the best of our historic sites and natural resources as we help our partners kick off the Spring tourism season in March of 2026. Now in its 18th year, excitement is building for commemorating the Nation’s 250th.

Maryland Day commemorates March 25, 1634, when the first English settlers arrived on our shores– a date that has for more than a century been dedicated to celebrating and learning about Maryland’s history. In the Crossroads, Maryland Day Celebration events and programs show how the range of history, people, eras and traditions found across Annapolis and Anne Arundel County are a Maryland tapestry in miniature. Woven together, we showcase all that makes our Heritage Area the best in the State!

Stay tuned as these exciting plans come together. With more than 50 partner sites across Annapolis and Anne Arundel County planning to  open their doors, and host special events, programs and events showcasing our local historic buildings, museums and heritage sites, art galleries, natural resources, recreational opportunities in our parks and on the water. Many of the Maryland Day Celebration 2026 partners will offer some program or event for free or just $1. We will soon unveil a series of curated tours and special itineraries to help visitors and locals alike discover how the Chesapeake Crossroads is a microcosm of Maryland.
