On Tuesday, October 15, Chesapeake Crossroads Heritage Area announced the honorees for its Twenty-First Annual Heritage Awards. These awards recognize individuals, organizations, programs and achievements that contribute to our community by interpreting, promoting, preserving, researching and/or supporting our historical legacy. The honorees for this year’s ceremony are:
HERITAGE TOURISM PRODUCT OF THE YEAR AWARD – “Civil Rights Guide for Annapolis and Anne Arundel County,” Visit Annapolis & Anne Arundel County and Partners
HERITAGE VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD, ANNAPOLIS – Robert Biddle, Hammond-Harwood House
HERITAGE VOLUNTEERS OF THE YEAR AWARD, ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY – Martha and Leo Black, Galesville Heritage Society
HERITAGE PARTNERSHIP AWARD — United States Marine Corps Historical Company and Historic London Town and Gardens
HERITAGE PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR AWARD – Jamie Foster, Watermark
HERITAGE INTERPRETER OF THE YEAR AWARD – Frederick Taylor, Watermark and City of Annapolis
HERITAGE STEWARDSHIP AWARD – Michael Day, Historic Annapolis
PATRICIA BARLAND LEADERSHIP AWARD – Christopher E. Haley, Maryland State Archives
Please plan to join us as we gather to reconnect and celebrate this year’s outstanding honorees. The event will be held on Tuesday, October 29th at 5 p.m., in the Blue Heron Room, Quiet Waters Park, 600 Quiet Waters Park Road, Annapolis. A light reception will follow the ceremony.
