Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month in Anne Arundel County

Hispanic Heritage MonthHispanic Heritage Month continues! Last week we shared with you National Hispanic Heritage Month resources from AASLH. Here are some ways you can celebrate in Anne Arundel County.

Anne Arundel Community College

Join AACC in celebrating the history, culture and traditions that define the Hispanic community and its future as a group. Take this month as an opportunity to reflect on Hispanic Americans’ service and contributions to the history of our nation. Customs and traditions always will be part of the Hispanic population. AACC has provided access to informative videos, history, cooking, movies and more for September and October.

Here are some upcoming highlights:

Saturday, October 3 (2:00 pm) – Learn How to Make Almojábanas in this free Facebook Live Event by Chef Dora Franceschi

Thursday, October 15 (12:00 pm) – For AACC’s Closing event, enjoy a virtual party with music

As well as some additional virtual activities available all month-long.

Anne Arundel County Public Library

Join AACPL virtually to enjoy the art of food, dance, cultural activities and much more during this celebration!

Here are some upcoming highlights:

Monday, October 5 (7:00 pm) – Movie Discussion: Here and There/Coloquio película: Aquí y Allá. Watch the movie on Kanopy beforehand, then join AACPL for an evening discussion on Zoom.
