Odenton Heritage Society Open House – WB&A Electric Railroad

November 2, 2025 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

On Sunday, November 2, the Odenton Heritage Society will inaugurate a recurring costumed docent tour based on the WB&A Electric Railroad, which ran through Odenton from 1908 to 1935. Before the construction of US 50 and I-97, electric trains carried people between Washington, Baltimore, and Annapolis.

A docent in full WB&A conductor’s uniform will explain train operations, routes, train cars, and conductors of the past.  During the tour, visitors can explore the rich history of the town of Odenton, from its railroads, homes, and churches to its schools, stores, and recreational activities over the past 154 years. Stroll through old Odenton amid captivating photographs, artifacts, and AV presentations.

Visit the Odenton Heritage Society Historical Center, located in the 1912 Old Masonic Temple at 1367 Odenton Road.  We’re open from 1PM to 4PM, offering free admission and continuous tours.  While you’re here, please consider becoming a member — your support helps us continue our all volunteer missions to preserve and protect the history of Odenton.
