Hands-On History Day: Women Getting It Done

March 12, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Visit the Museum of Historic Annapolis on the second Sunday of every month for Hands-On History Days. Drop in any time between 10 am and 2 pm for special family activities – a new theme each month means you and your family will want to visit again and again! Activities are included with Museum admission.

In March, we are celebrating Women’s History and the power of Women!

  • Meet and talk with our special guest: Barbara Hopkins! Barbara was the first female police officer and first female police Captain in the City of Annapolis (special opportunity between 11 am and 1 pm)
  • Interact with Camp Followers from the Revolutionary War! Learn from these living history interpreters about the key role of women during the war for independence (special opportunity between 11 am and 1 pm)
  • Explore the Museum and discover the many contributions of women to our community throughout Annapolis: An American Story
  • Kids will learn about how Suffragettes secured the right to vote and can create their own rosette
  • Read stories about inspiring women with your family in our Anne Arundel County Public Library Book Nook
